La’Mical is related to American running back Samaje Perine– they are cousins. Samaje plays for the Kansas City Chiefs (2024- present), which has also been home to NFL players like De’Anthony Thomas, and Kareem Hunt.

La’Mical attended Theodore High School, where he ran rushed for 1,654 yards and 15 touchdowns and was named first-team Class 7A All-State.
Having played collegiate football for the Florida Gators at the University of Florida, his college stats stood at 2,485 rushing yards and 22 touchdowns, including an 88-yard TD against the Auburn Tigers in 2019.
Perine was the New York Jets’ round-four pick in the 2020 NFL draft, which also introduced players like CeeDee Lamb and Justin Jefferson. He signed a 4 year $4.04 million contract with the Jets on July 9, 2020.
After two years with the Jets, he saw stints at the Philadelphia Eagles and Miami Dolphins ahead of the 2022 season, but none promoted him to the active roster.
