Despite impressive gameplay, Steele couldn’t give the best of himself to lure the eyes of powerful college teams.

Carson was not among the 321 prospects invited to the NFL scouting combine, yet it didn’t diminish his spirit to see a way into the NFL.
After 12 days of the combine wrap-up, UCLA held its pro day, where Steele, standing 6 ft 1 in (1.85 m) and weighing 225 lb (102 kg), participated. He bench-pressed 225 pounds 28 times and posted a 37.5-inch vertical jump. He ran a 40-yard dash in 4.77 seconds.
