The Newport Beach Police Department Sergeant Steven Oberon replied, “It’s over … We have no corroborating information related to criminal activity regarding Mr. Giddey.”
Police had started the investigation in November 2023 after the outrage on social media over the photos and videos of the 21-year-old basketball with a minor girl surfaced online, demanding a thorough investigation.
Additionally, the NBA also had a separate investigation regarding the issue.
However, Giddey played and showcased his performance for the team throughout his investigation. The public reacted mixed to him, as he was loved in home games and booed in other games.
