Jackson, a Michigan native, began his sports career in high school. He knew he was into sports, specifically basketball, and started his career early on.

Jackson began his college career in December 2020 and soon established himself as a top basketball player. He won the SEC All-Defensive and All-Freshman Team honors during his freshman year.

In March 2021, Isaiah declared for the NBA draft and became the Los Angeles Lakers’ round-one (22nd overall) pick. However, the Lakers later traded him to the Indiana Pacers. Since then, his affiliation with the Indiana Pacers has been a story of success.

Nonetheless, his records at the University of Kentucky show he has four siblings, including two brothers. His oldest sibling is Wesley Jackson Jr.

Similarly, his other three siblings are De’Dra, Jah, and China Evens. Isaiah Jackson has not posted or talked about his brother Wesley Jr. or other siblings on his Instagram.

Nonetheless, Isaiah was tired of getting tossed between his divorced parents. While he was just adjusting to the situation, police arrested his father, and he was in jail for almost a year.

During an interview with Athletic, Isaiah said, “Before my mom and dad split up, we lived in this nice house with this big TV, and I just watched it over and over and over, and I fell in love with it.”

After a year, when Wesley Sr. got out of jail, he was just reconnecting with Isaiah, but police arrested him once more for drug and gun charges for a longer time of 2.5 years.

When Wesley went to prison, Isaiah described his feelingsWe had such a close bond, and then he left, and I didn’t know how to feel. It left me kind of cold-hearted.”

Isaiah’s mother, DeUngela, raised all three of her kids alone. She worked in graveyards and factories to raise all of her kids alone.

On Wesley’s return, he married another woman and a daughter from their marriage, whose name was China Evens.

Wesley already had experience driving and continues to work as a driver in central Kentucky. Though Wesley missed out on many of Isaiah’s childhood, he made sure he could support him all he could during his college career.

In an Interview, Isaiah’s father, Wesley, said, “Provide moral and spiritual support, help him find a church home, all that.”

During his interview, he said, “All the credit goes to his mother for the man Isaiah has become. She’s a special, special woman.”

Wesley Jackson further added about his achievements, “I’m a man’s man, but it’s going to be emotional. My chest is always out when I talk about his achievements in basketball, but I’m most proud of who he is — his ability to endure, to learn, to grow as a man.”
