Isaiah Buggs Is a Controversial Businessman

The talented athlete has a diversified source of income aside from his earnings from the NFL.

The two-time SEC champion owns Kings Hookah Lounge in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The lounge offers a relaxing atmosphere for customers with various flavored hookah options. It also hosts parties on different occasions to celebrate for their customers.

According to his agent, Trey Robinson, the talented player was arrested twice for misdemeanors at the lounge. However, no information regarding the case was made public.

Later, Buggs was charged with resisting arrest alongside two violations, one from 2023 involving overcrowding at the lounge and the other for violating the ordinance “alleys kept free of rubbish/trash.” He was under arrest at the Tuscaloosa County jail with a $1,600 bond.

Additionally, Buggs had to pay his $300 bail for a misdemeanor charge. He was charged with failure to file and pay sales taxes for his lounge from February 2021 to April 2022.

In addition, the city might revoke the two-time SEC champion’s business license. The possible revocation will be decided at a public hearing on Tuesday, June 25, at 8:30 a.m.

To save his precious business, the 2017 CFP national champion appealed to his fans through a Facebook post to join him during the council meeting for support. Additionally, Buggs has started a petition with more than 600 signatures to save his lounge.

Isaiah Buggs Is Facing Animal Cruelty Charges

The talented defensive lineman on May 30 surrendered himself in Tuscaloosa for two counts of second-degree animal cruelty. He was arrested for the second time in less than three weeks. and released promptly after posting his $5000 bond

According to his neighbor, Buggs had left two dogs, a gray pit bull and a black Rottweiler, unattended on the porch for ten days without food or water. The pit bull was euthanized due to its poor condition, and the Rottweiler had Parvo, a deadly disease dogs dog.

Additionally, the 2017 CFP national champion had moved after receiving a termination letter on April 15, 2024, for his delayed rent of $3,000. 

However, his agent, Robinson, said about the whole controversy, “Under no circumstance does Mr. Buggs condone the mistreatment of any animal. The dogs at issue did not belong to him, and he was unaware they remained at the property in question.”
