Hugh Dillon Gave a Tribute to His Late Brother Jude Dillon In The Thriller Series Mayor of Kingstown

Hugh Dillon gave tribute to his late brother, Jude Dillon, in Episode 8 of the renowned Thriller series Mayor of Kingston, season 3, with the title “In Loving Memory of Jude Dillon.”

Canadian actor, singer, and producer Hugh Dillon started his career in music as the lead singer of the rock band Headstones in 1987 and released songs like Cemetery and Three Angles.

Hugh began his acting career in 1994 with the film Dance Me Out as Clarence Gaskill. He is also the executive producer of the TV series Mayor of Kingstown, where he portrays Ian.

In addition to his long career, Hugh has also written the script for the TV series Mayor of Kingston. The actor cum singer also wrote his first script for the short movie Issues in 2011.

However, as an artist, Hugh Dillon shared his love of singing and camera with his older brother, Jude Dillon.

Was The Older Brother, Jude Dillon, the Mentor of Hugh Dillon?

Jude Dillon passed away on January 27, 2024. On January 28, 2024, Hugh Dillon posted an old picture of him and his brother together with the caption, “RIP, my big brother Jude Dillon pictured here in our basement in Kingston in 1968. THANK YOU, JUDE.”

Born and raised in Kingston, Ontario, Jude Dillon spent his formative years there with his brother Hugh. Then, Jude graduated in English from Queen’s University.

Nonetheless, Jude, like his brother, was an artist and creative by nature, so he went on to get a degree in painting from Alberta College of Art and Design.

Jude was Hugh’s biggest supporter and fan all his life because he understood creative industries like entertainment, photography, and the music industry.

After attending the Alberta College of Art and Design, he spent years in photography, and his work was featured in multiple magazines in Canada, Europe, and the United States.

In 2018, Hugh Dillion posted a picture that his elder brother took on Facebook, appreciating his photography, with the caption, “photo: Jude Dillon 11.16.18 Calgary Alberta Canada.”

In an Interview, Hugh spoke about Jude’s work, “Some of you may already know his [Jude’s] stuff… He is and has always been a great artist/photographer. Since I was a kid, I have always found his images both hypnotic and breathtaking.”

Jude Dillon Had a Multi-Dimensional Career, Just Like His Younger Brother

The seasoned photographer, Jude Dillon, was also passionate about music, and he shared his passion for music and singing on his YouTube channel, Jude Dillon.

Jude was also a poet. During his lifetime, he published two poetry collections: Happy There in My Agony and The Fractured Garden.

In addition, he presents a combination of his music and photography on his YouTube channel; the music is mostly guitar-based.

Jude Dillon was also an editor for an electronic magazine based in Europe called Gloom Cupboard. As a photojournalist, he won several awards.

The photographer cum poet lived in Berkeley, California, United States, and moved to Calgary, Alberta, at the later stage of his life. He continued to live there until he took his last breath.

During his time in California, Jude took writing courses at different universities while he was working professionally as a photographer.

Jude Dillon’s multi-dimensional career has made him stand out among his companions and close ones.

Did Hugh Dillon Get Out of His Drug Addiction Because of His Older Brother?

In an Interview with Express UK, Hugh Dillon said, “At one point, I was living in England because I had to leave the country because I was involved in drugs and guns, and it was 1981, and I moved to Brixton.”

In fact, Hugh moved to London only because of Guns and Drugs. When his parents asked him, “Where do you want to go?” He said, “I always loved music and culture, loved the Pistols and The Clash, and said, I don’t know, London.”

The actor got into criminal activities, and the police arrested him. He spoke in Marylebone Court, but what worked for him in England was that he found his passion to work as a singer and actor.

Following in the footsteps of Hugh’s older brother, Jude Dillon, who was already in photography, Hugh took a leap of faith and began his music career, and the rest is history.
