Sambhav Swar Sirohiya is the managing director of Kantipur Media Group, one of Nepal’s most influential media groups.

One of two sons of Nepalese business Tycoon Kailash Sirohiya, Sambhav, operates many businesses and holds stocks of many brands within the country. Furthermore, with a Stanford executive degree, he has held many administrative positions in the industry.

After years of close relationships, Sirohiya recently married Miss Nepal 2018, Shrinkhala Khatiwada.

Sambhav recently made headlines when he accused then-Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane of attempting to suppress news about his involvement in a cooperative fraud scam.

This was after Sirohiya’s father, Kailash Sirohiya, was detained at the company’s Kathmandu headquarters on May 21, 2024, on suspicion of breaking citizenship laws when it was discovered that his citizenship card number coincided with another person’s.

Sambhav, born in 1992, is currently 32. Sirohiya has overseen several businesses nationwide and held many executive positions in Kantipur Media Group, Nepal’s most prominent media organization.

According to his LinkedIn profile, he is the Group CEO at Movers and Shakers Holdings (MNS) Pvt. Ltd. Movers and Shakers is a corporate group of companies. It is the assemblage of the parent and its subsidiaries, each having unique business interests but functioning as a single economic entity.

Moreover, he is also the CEO of M&S VMAG, a popular digital video magazine for Nepali youths, and the founding chairman of M&S NEXT Venture Corp, one of the most prominent and pioneering business accelerators.

Upon founding M&S Holdings in 2016, Sirohiya oversaw five businesses: a portfolio management firm, a business accelerator, a tourism company, a digital video magazine, and an artificial intelligence research lab.

In addition, he is the chairman of M&S WORXpro Innovation, M&S Events, and Asian Digital Marketing.

Under his leadership, he reformed the Kantipur Media Group from a print publication to a digital news leader. Moreover, he has acquired many brands, including Hamro Bazar, Nepal’s No. 1 online Marketplace.  

When Was Sambhav Sirohiya Born? Brief On Family Background

Sambhav Sirohiya was born on July 8, 1992 ( Ashar 24, 2049) to his parents, Kailash Sirohiya and Swastika Swar Sirohiya. He is 32 and has a younger brother in his family of four.

He was raised in Kathmandu with his brother Anubhav Swar Siyohiya. Sambhav grew up in an upper-class family where his father was a prominent businessman, and his mother, Swastika, held an executive position in the family-run corporate business.

His father, Kailash Sirohya, is one of Nepal’s most prominent businessmen. Kailash is chairman of KMG and has made considerable investments in the business.

Despite having an opportunity to study and work in the UK, he preferred to stay in Nepal and work here. However, after a few years, he went to Australia for further studies but returned after a short stay of six months.

Sambhav Sirohiya Is The Current Managing Director Of The Kantipur Media Group

Sambhav Sirohiya was appointed KMG managing director in September 2023. He had earlier served as CEO of the media group.

Former CEO Sirohiya has been with Kantipur Media Group for over ten years. He has led various businesses, including those in the information technology sector. Before Sambhav’s hiring, Chairman Kailash Sirohiya was also in charge of managing director.

Sambhav, the managing director, took up his position shortly after being appointed.

As he assumed leadership, he declared that he would guarantee the editorial freedom that Kantipur has upheld throughout its thirty years of existence.

The freedom to edit is ingrained in Kantipur. Kantipur’s spirit and soul shall remain unchanged. After thirty years in the Kantipur family, I know that editorial independence has been crucial to Kantipur’s current standing,” he remarked.

According to Sirohiya, the economic crisis has severely impacted the media and engulfed domestic and global markets. He pledged to work towards resolving the group’s financial difficulties. Likewise, he worked to grow the KMG and saw results very soon.

Sirohiya has led the digitalization drive of the Kantipur media outlets since creating Kantipur Digital Corporation in 2013. With its six sub-brands distributing high-quality content worldwide, KDC—now expanding to become Nepal’s largest digital media company—has successfully achieved a 100 percent increase in traffic and a 5,000 percent increase in profits.

At KMG, he works with other notable personalities, such as Oshin Sitaula, the senior executive producer, and Shishir Pachhai, the CEO of KMG.

Sambhav Siyohiya Married Miss Nepal 2018 Shrinkhala Khatiwada

Sambhav Sirohiya married Shrinkhala Khatiwada, Miss Nepal 2018, on December 14, 2023. They had been in a close relationship for a few years before their wedding.

Social media images and videos of Shrinkhala and Sambhav show off their stunning wedding outfits. Both sides’ close relatives and family members attended the lavish wedding ceremony in Kathmandu.

Shrinkhala is a model and social media personality. She won the title of Miss Nepal 2018 and made history by becoming the second Nepali to receive the Miss World Beauty with a Purpose Award, following Ishani Shrestha.

She is the daughter of Munu Sigdel Khatiwada, a former member of the Bagmati Provincial Assembly, and Birodh Khatiwada, a leader of the CPN (Unified Socialist).

Their wedding took place at the Hotel Hyatt in Kathmandu. In December 2023, the couple shared pictures and videos of their lavish wedding via social media.

Siyohiya was previously in a relationship with Niti Shah, a Nepali actress, model, and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss International Nepal 2017.

Sambhav Siyohiya’s Clash With Rabi Lamichhame After His Father’s Arrest

Managing director (MD) of Kantipur Media Group (KMG) Sambhav Sirohiya charged then-Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane with attempting to suppress information about his role in a cooperative fraud scheme.

Sirohiya claimed in a video message made public in June 2023 that Lamichhane asked the media outlet to hold off on publishing details about the scam until they looked into it.

In addition, Sirohiya claimed that Home Minister Lamichhane’s recent arrest of Kailash Sirohiya, the chairman of KMG and Sambhav’s father, was a reprisal. Sambhav claims that these accusations were made up since the media outlet wouldn’t abide by the minister’s instruction.
