Young Lee Harker’s mother, Ruth, is the partner of the madman Longlegs in the crime. Alicia Witt, who played Ruth, had a dream of the film’s most horrifying scene before reading the script.
In the final scene, Lee’s colleague, an FBI agent, is celebrating his daughter’s birthday. Lee’s mother kills the FBI agent and shoots the doll, who looks like young Lee Harker.
In an Interview, Alicia Witt said, “Oh, I’m just remembering this as I’m saying this to you. I had a dream about that scene! In fact, I dreamed about that scene before I read the script. The script had arrived in my inbox, and I had a dream that night about that scene.”
However, this was not the only weird thing with the Longlegs cast. In a scene with older Lee Harker, played by actress Maika Monroe, Alicia Witt experienced something unusual on a movie set.
In the same interview, Alicia said, “And I had one with Maika Monroe at that moment. We were in some other realm together. I was not expecting that. It happened. The voice that came out of me wasn’t mine.”
